CMA Course Details

The CMA course is structured into three levels:

1. Foundation Course:

EligibilityCompletion of Class 10 or equivalent and Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent.
SubjectsFundamentals of Economics and Management, Fundamentals of Accounting, Fundamentals of Laws and Ethics, and Fundamentals of Business Mathematics and Statistics.

 2. Intermediate Course:

EligibilityCompletion of the Foundation Course or Graduation in any discipline (excluding Fine Arts).

Subjects:

Group IFinancial Accounting, Laws and Ethics, Direct Taxation, Cost Accounting.
Group IIOperations Management & Strategic Management, Cost & Management Accounting and Financial Management, Indirect Taxation, Company Accounts & Audit.

3. Final Course:

EligibilityCompletion of the Intermediate Course and 15 months of practical training.

 Subjects:

Group ICorporate Laws & Compliance, Strategic Financial Management, Strategic Cost Management, Decision Making, Direct Tax Laws and International Taxation.
Group IICorporate Financial Reporting, Indirect Tax Laws and Practice, Cost and Management Audit, Strategic Performance Management and Business Valuation.

CMA Course Registration Process

Admission: The CMA Foundation course admissions are open throughout the year. For the June Term Examination, apply by January 31, and for the December Term Examination, apply by July 31.

Application Fee:

  • Foundation Course: ₹6,000
  • Intermediate Course: ₹23,000
  • Final Course: ₹25,000

To register, visit the official ICMAI website, fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents, and complete the payment process. The documents generally include passport-sized photos, mark sheets, and degree certificates.

CMA Course Exam Dates 2024 Details

CMA exams are held twice a year—in June and December. The exams are descriptive and pen-and-paper-based, with each subject typically carrying 100 marks and lasting 3 hours.

Examination Fee:

  • Foundation Course: ₹1,200
  • Intermediate Course: ₹1,200 (Single Group) or ₹2,400 (Both Groups)
  • Final Course: ₹1,400 (Single Group) or ₹2,800 (Both Groups)

CMA Exam Admit Cards

Admit cards are issued 15 days before the exam date, and results are available on the ICMAI website.

Exemptions and Carry Forward Rules

Candidates who secure 60% or more in any paper are exempt from retaking that paper in future attempts, though the marks are considered as 50 for aggregate calculations. If candidates pass a group with 60% or more in any paper and 40% in others, they benefit from carrying forward the actual marks of exempted papers.
