Neeraj Chopra Achievement: The Unmatched Success of the Javelin Prodigy

Neeraj Chopra, the incredible javelin thrower, has achieved amazing things in his career. He’s won gold in the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games in 2018. He’s also done really well in the Diamond League Meetings, winning four times and even becoming the champion last year.

Recently, in the World Athletics Championships 2023 held in Budapest, Neeraj Chopra made India proud again. He threw the javelin a very long distance of 88.17 meters and won the Gold medal. This is a big deal because he’s the first Indian to win this championship. In a great achievement, three other Indian athletes also did really well, finishing in the top eight of the same event.

During the final, Neeraj’s best throw came in his second attempt. He threw the javelin 88.17m, and even though he started with a foul, he managed to make some fantastic throws.

Arshad Nadeem from Pakistan got the silver medal with a throw of 87.82m, and Jakub Vadlejch from the Czech Republic got the bronze.

What’s even more special is that Neeraj Chopra.Has now matched a record set by Abhinav Bindra, a famous Indian shooter. Both of them are the only Indians to hold both the Olympics and World Championships titles at the same time.

He’s now in an elite group of javelin throwers, alongside Jan Zelezny from the Czech Republic and Andreas Thorkildsen from Norway, who have also held both the Olympics and World Championships titles.”
